The mechatronic all-in-one pump system
LEWA is uniting what was previously separate: Pumps with variable speed drives (vsd) and additional separate actuators for stroke adjustment for a wide range can now be combined into one unit.

Looking for a connection?
Pre-wired plug connections reduce installation and wiring efforts for the connection of the performance and data lines from the motor to the power converter and control module. Naturally, data bus communication in the automation is offered via Ethernet or Profibus, as is the availability of conventional standard signal interfaces at the controller.
Individual competitor or team player?
LEWA intellidrive is also available in a stand-alone variant; the necessary open and closed loop control intelligence is already integrated in the drive system.
As an alternative, the pump control may be integrated into a higher-level process control system, and may receive appropriate set point values via Profibus or a 4…20 mA current loop interface from the superior control level.
In which fields can LEWA intellidrive be used?
- In handling difficult fluids, including highly viscous fluids, since the pump properties can be specifically adapted according to the required nominal metering and conveying task by LEWA intellidrive
- In precise metering in batch processes due to the very fine resolution in partial stroke modus, especially for filling operations, since the drive is synchronized with the filling system
- In sterile processes, since the pump and motor are hermetically sealed in their operation and work without cooling fan
- When material flow parameters are variable, e.g. nonhomogeneous qualities, varying pressure or temperature fluctuations

Limitless range of potential uses:
- High-viscosity fluids can only be pumped ideally by intelligent motion control, especially during the suction phase; LEWA intellidrive masters different suction and pressure stroke frequencies
- Mixing two media in one pump head: LEWA intellidrive with intelligent drive system
- High precision filling: LEWA intellidrive synchronizes to the filling machine and integrates itself perfectly into process automation, e.g. in the pharmaceutical industry
- By intelligently overlaying the flows of two single pumps, it is possible to prevent pressure pulsation, even without pulsation dampers
- When flow rates are variable: Production with LEWA intellidrive minimizes downtimes, e.g. in extrusion processes
Of course, the pumps of the proven LEWA modular system can be equipped with different pump heads (e.g. PTFE) and other production or process-relevant materials.
