Project Engineer


Job Purpose

Successfully executes engineering projects by organizing and controlling all post-order elements.


Essential Job Skills

Develops Project Objectives:
by reviewing project proposals, orders, specifications and plans; conferring with sales, proposal engineer and management.

Determines Project Responsibilities:

by identifying project phases and elements including piping and instrumentation diagrams and general arrangement drawings; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from vendors, ensures Vendor Data Requirement Schedule, Quality Plan and Factory Acceptance Testing requirements and procedures are complete.

Determines Project Specifications and schedule:

by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; reviewing cost estimates.  By studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements, and completing a project timeline consistent with objectives.

Controls Product Performance:
by designing and completing, or controlling completion of required drawings and documentation; and specifying and conducting tests.

Maintains Project Schedule:
by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.

Controls Project Plan and Costs:
by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions; approving expenditures; administering sub vendor orders.

Prepares Project Status Reports:
by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; informs customer of project status by submitting periodic progress reports.

Maintains Project Performance and Quality:
by maintaining clean and orderly work place, coordinating inspection plans, enforcing quality procedures and regulations.

Maintains Project Data Base:
by maintaining orderly records, files and data base.
Maintains Product and Company Reputation:
by ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Contributes to Team Effort:

by accomplishing related results as needed including support of Application Sales Engineers and Aftermarket Service personnel.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in engineering and project management.  

Demonstrated skills:

  • 3-5 years of project management and scheduling
  • Ability to prioritize and make self-directed decisions, multi-task, and function effectively under frequent deadlines
  • Must be able to work through problems from a technical, practical and business profitability prospective
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Excellent personal organization and communication skills

Experienced or Knowledgable in:

  • Database Software Management Tools – MS Access, ODBC
  • MicroSoft Office tools – Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook  
  • 3D modeling in AutoCAD or Solid Edge

Regional Sales Manager / Southwest and Western North America

 


Job Summary Description

Develops and serves customers, markets and sales channels by identifying the opportunities and projects and develop and offer value proposition of products and services specifically in the Oil and Gas industry.

 


Essential Job Requirements

  • Lead and direct all tactical sales efforts to ensure regional sales and profit goals are attainted through account management, customer intimacy and goal setting processes
  • Direct all strategic goal setting and planning procedures for assigned territories through development of multi-year forecast and outlook processes
  • Develop and manage sales contacts, identify new customers, penetrate key account and alliance customers and research customer needs and develop value propoosition for application of products and services
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner
  • Develop and manage assigned sales budgets and plans in a timely and effective manner
  • Responsible for all sales forecasting, planning and corrective action plan implementation for assigned territories
  • Participate in trade products, modification of existing products and develops case for termination of ineffective products
  • Develop and manintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers based on LEWA principal of honesty-intergrity-trust
  • Review and submit orders and allocate commission properly
  • Develops customer technical support and product know-how in the territories
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Ability to prepare and review sales engineering reports and develop clear action plans for full customer intimacy, account penetration, job closure (touch all the bases) and mitigation plans as required
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of all products and services
  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying, evaluating and presenting packaged system solutions in all territories
  • Contributes to team effort by promoting the highest level of communication throughout the LEWA worldwide sales network
  • Adheres to and comply with American LEWA's strategies, policies and procedures without exceptions
  • Manages assigned personnel, rep orgs, and territories by developing goal sheets and maintain performance review process

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Fluid/gas or similar) with 5-10 years experience or equivalent work experience (10-15 years) in a techincal sales role within the oil & gas and petrochemical industries for samll ($15K) to large (>1.5M) capital projects and substantial fluid dynamics experience.

 

 

Demonstrated skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and make self-directed decisions, multi-task, and function effectively under frequent deadlines.
  • Provide leadership and counsel as senior management to the Southwest US and Western North American areas internal sales staff and external sales representatives.
  • Must be able to work through problems from both a technical and theory prospective.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Excellent personal organization and communication skills.
  • Experienced or knowledgeable in:
  • Solid Edge, AutoCad or similar CAE/CAD software
  • Selltis/CRM or similar Sortware and Database Sortware Mfanagement Tools
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
