First Oil & Gas Conference

The first „Oil & Gas Conference” in Bad Reichenhall that ended after 4 days’ commitment on 14 February, focussed on the joint development of future markets as well as on the more efficient utilisation of existing synergies.

The event started with Bernd Stütz’ address of welcome. Almost 50 participants from the Leonberg divisions “Sales and Engineering Oil & Gas” and representatives from subsidiaries and agents all over the world provided their know-how.

After introducing the programme “Tomorrow starts today”, more in-depth information was exchanged. Development, status quo, objectives and strategies were defined for market development and complemented by speeches of the respective experts on the oil and gas business in the world’s most important regions. In subsequent workshops, other topics were developed, such as detecting market signals, continuity in communication and adequate and success-oriented order processing. The topic “Development and application of solutions for future target markets” also played an important role; after presenting the workshop results, a discussion on sales and marketing in the target markets followed.

The last day was entirely dedicated to customer proximity: how can LEWA offer better service to its customers in the worldwide oil and gas business, how can we coordinate projects even better, and, last but not least, how can we find the closest possible proximity to our customers in the core business – the EPC companies? This industry (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) characterises the interplay between development, procurement and construction of customer-oriented solutions and, by optimised use and interaction of all LEWA competences, it ensures success for our customers.

All participants agreed that the catalogue of measures prepared during the conference is another great step towards the manifestation of the LEWA objectives. Due to the conference’s success and its future economic significance for LEWA, the management and the organisational body headed by Stefan Glasmeyer, Dr. Hans-Joachim Johl and Adolf Grossmann, promised that additional events of this nature will follow. The show by young artists of the Hamburg Musical School was one of the highlights. Another highlight of the social programme was a breathtaking bobsleigh ride on the Olympic run Königssee – a shared experience which will bring the global Oil & Gas Team even closer together!
