After-treatment of exhaust gas
For the after-treatment of exhaust gas in most fossil fired large-scale power plants LEWA pumps are used for the injection of additives such as e.g. methanol.
Among others the goal is to increase the performance of the complete plant as well as achieving an improvement of the eco-balance.
One reference was a exemplary newly developed amine washing process with the target to extract and re-inject over 5 million tons of CO2 a year from a normal 450 MW-power plant by means of additional catalysts.
Here the operationally-safe, almost maintenance-free LEWA metering pumps displaced even the centrifugal pumps usually applied in the power plant sector.
