Areas of application for seal pressurization systems
These systems circulate barrier fluids where mechanical seals need extra protection against process fluids, contamination or extreme conditions like:
- Aggressive or corrosive media in the chemical industry
- High-pressure applications with abrasive fluids in the oil & gas, mining or pulp & paper industries
- High temperature in boiler feedwater systems (e.g. power generation)
- Maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination in the pharmaceutical & food industry

Background information for seal pressurization systems
Such pressurization systems are used to circulate barrier fluids that protect mechanical seals and gaskets in demanding pump applications. These systems maintain pressure higher than the process pressure, ensuring that the barrier fluid forms a protective layer and prevents contamination or leakage.
To keep this pressure stable, a dedicated backfeed unit is required. It continuously monitors the system and compensates for any fluid losses caused by leakage or evaporation. By automatically topping up barrier fluid from the supply tank, the refill unit ensures reliable operation and extends the lifetime of seals and equipment.
