Pomac rotary lobe pump

The hygienic rotary lobe pump is ideal for food and beverage production, handling thin, viscous, and shear‑sensitive products such as dairy, sauces, syrups, and fruit mixes. With two rotors different sealing options, it ensures gentle, reliable, and sanitary transfer in continuous processing environments.

  • Flow rate max. 80 m3/h
  • Discharge pressure max. 15 bar

Pomac rotary lobe pump

Positive displacement multi-rotor pumps

Pomac rotary lobe pumps are engineered for maximum capacity with minimal product damage — ideal for sensitive food and beverage media. Their compact design and optimized chamber volume support pressures up to 15 bar and flow rates up to 80 m³/h.

All pump components and the gear drive are stainless steel, ensuring hygienic operation and easy cleaning. Vertical, self‑draining installation enables universal use. The standard series offers rotors tailored to each product, while -two or four- blade hygienic rotors provide gentle, sanitary handling for applications requiring the highest hygiene standards.

Efficient transfer of high viscosity media

The Pomac™ Lobe pumps have gentle pumping action, ensuring that sensitive products are handled carefully, preserving texture and quality. All hygienic requirements are met with high reliability and efficiency, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance with the highest food safety standards.

Key features and benefits

Advanced rotary lobe pump design for F&B use

Compact, hygienic pump design with CIP cleaning, robust duplex‑steel shafts, minimal backflow, and modular flexibility for fast maintenance and easy adaptation.

Benefits at a glance

  • With certificate of proof, e.g. 3.1, FDA, USP, A3, EHEDG, 1935 - 2004, ATEX
  • Suitable for extreme external operating conditions (± 0 to 150° C)
  • Surfaces ≤ 0.8 µ, if desired ≤ 0.5 µ electro-polished
  • Easy configuration of rotor tolerances
  • Large selection of connections
  • Low noise level
  • Suitable for relatively large solids content
  • Wide application range: from dairy products to sugar mass, creams, toothpaste, sauces to doughs

Very short shaft overhang

It increases pump stability, reduces vibration, and minimizes wear. In food and beverage processing, this ensures gentle, hygienic product handling, consistent flow, and longer equipment life.

Maintenance-friendly design

This design with “front-pull-out-principle” or front-loaded sealing lets operators access rotors and seals without removing pipelines. This speeds up cleaning, reduces downtime, and supports strict hygiene standards for efficient, reliable processing.

Oversized shafts prevent deflection

Shafts made from 1.4462 duplex steel prevent deflection, ensuring stable, vibration‑free pumping. This protects product quality, maintains hygienic precision, reduces wear, and delivers reliable performance even with viscous or demanding media.

Cleaning-in-place (CIP) capabilities

CIP capabilities allow the pump to be cleaned automatically without disassembly. This ensures consistent hygiene, faster changeovers, reduced contamination risk, and higher production efficiency while meeting strict sanitary standards.

Minimal internal backflow

It ensures precise, hygienic product transfer. It protects product texture, improves dosing accuracy, reduces waste, and maintains consistent flow quality—key for handling sensitive, high‑value ingredients efficiently and safely.

Standard stainless steel gearbox

This increases stability and reduces vibration thus ensuring smooth, hygienic operation, protecting product quality, and minimizing wear.

Modular design enables 1:1 replacement

A modular build allows pumps to be swapped quickly without redesigning the system. This reduces downtime, simplifies upgrades, supports fast part availability, and keeps hygienic production running efficiently with minimal process interruption.

Flexible connection & seal adaptation

Quick conversion between different connection types and single or double mechanical seals makes the pump easy to adapt to changing food and beverage processes. This flexibility reduces downtime, supports hygienic production, and ensures reliable performance across multiple products.
