2. Data Collection for Internal System and Statistical Purposes

For technical reasons and to safeguard our legitimate interests, your internet browser automatically transmits data to our web server when accessing our website. This includes, among other things:

  • Name of the accessed webpage or file
  • Date and time of access
  • Status codes
  • Browser type and version
  • IP address

These data are stored separately from any other data you provide and are not assigned to any specific individual.
Log data are used solely for statistical evaluation, security, system stability, and improving user experience, and are subsequently deleted.
In cases of suspected misuse, we reserve the right to review these logs retrospectively.

3. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

Personal data is collected and processed when you voluntarily provide it via our website, for example through:

  • Consultation or quote requests
  • After-sales or service forms
  • Supplier applications
  • General inquiries (also via email, phone, or social media)
  • Whitepaper downloads
  • Newsletter subscriptions
  • Registration for the LEWA press distribution list
  • Application and contact forms
  • Web shop registration and contact
  • Online chat services

The specific data collected depends on the input form used.

3.1 Purposes of Data Processing

Your personal data is collected and stored for the following purposes:

  • Creating customer profiles and contact histories
  • Sharing data with responsible branches or sales partners
  • Processing your requests
  • Preparing and sending offers
  • Contract creation and execution
  • Customer satisfaction surveys
  • Processing applications (including extended storage with consent)
  • Communication via phone, fax, mail, email, and social media
  • Storage in a CRM system
  • Visitor management
  • Marketing activities for Atlas Copco Group products/services
  • Sending newsletters, event invitations, and product updates
  • Answering inquiries via chat software

3.2 Newsletter Processing

Your data will be stored until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
You can unsubscribe at any time via a link in the newsletter.
Upon unsubscribing, your data will be deleted immediately.

Additionally, usage data is collected for statistical purposes and optimization.

3.3 Processing in the Application Process

Applicant data is processed to manage recruitment.
If hired, data is stored for employment purposes.
If not, it is deleted after 6 months unless:

  • There is a legal obligation (e.g., AGG requirements)
  • You consent to longer storage

Applications via the online form are encrypted. Email applications should be encrypted by the applicant.

Travel reimbursement documents are stored per legal requirements and deleted afterward.

3.4 Chat Service Processing

We use chat software from Userlike UG (Germany).

When using chat, data collected includes:

  • Date and time
  • Browser and OS
  • IP address
  • Referrer URL
  • Data volume

Additional personal data may be entered during chat.

Purpose: improve customer service and enable fast communication.

Employees are trained in data protection and bound to confidentiality.

The chat widget is loaded via AWS CloudFront.

3.5 Automated Decision-Making / Profiling

No automated decision-making is performed.
Profiling occurs only as described under WiredMinds analytics.

4. Legal Basis

Processing is based on:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b))
  • Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c))
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f))
  • Employment law (§26 BDSG)
  • Special categories of data (Art. 9 GDPR)

5. Data Retention

Data is stored only as long as necessary or legally required, then deleted.

6. Data Transfers

Data transmission is encrypted.

Data may be shared with:

  • Service providers (e.g., hosting)
  • Atlas Copco group companies
  • Sales partners and service providers

Further sharing only occurs:

  • With your consent
  • Due to legal obligations
  • To protect company rights

7. Cookies and Analytics

IP addresses are anonymized.

7.2 Matomo

Open-source analytics tool.
Data stored on our servers, anonymized.
Used based on legitimate interest.
No data shared with third parties.

7.3 Google Remarketing

Used only with your consent.
Displays interest-based ads.
You can opt out via Google settings.

8. YouTube

Embedded YouTube videos transmit data to Google only after your consent.

9. Friendly Captcha

Used to prevent bot abuse.

Features:

  • No personal identification
  • IP anonymization
  • No cookies used
  • No marketing usage

10. External Links

We are not responsible for third-party websites.
Liability lies with the respective providers.
